S Note is the included app for Samsung’s Note series that allows, well, scoring. It is designed to be used with the S Pen stylus for a variety of quick notes and drawings. It features most of the things you’d expect from a scoring tool, but since it’s an integral part of the differencing material, Samsung seems interested in making a beta version of the app available to its users. . The beta app is now available on the Play Store – go here to sign up for the program, then go to here to download it.
The app is supported on most recent Samsung phones (including those without a stylus – you can just use your finger), but oddly enough, my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 7 is not showing as compatible. It’s possible that the Note 7’s revamped UI, including the ability to draw notes on the always-on screen, may mean that a separate APK is needed.
According to the update text, the beta version of the app includes a built-in sorting option and the ability to lock notes. It also fixes bugs in text alignment and autosave, and prevents crashes in some cases. Updates resolve an issue where “external causes” resulted in the loss of grades. If for some reason you don’t want to use the Play Store’s built-in beta (or want to try it on an unsupported device), the beta version of S Note is also available on APK Mirror.
