S Note app is now available for select non-Samsung devices

As most of you know, Samsung “Galaxy” devices come with the Samsung Android skin called “TouchWiz”. Samsung tends to include all kinds of in-house apps with the corporate skin, some of which are more popular than others. The company’s “S Note” app is actually a prime example, this note-taking app is currently available on just about every Galaxy-branded device released in the past two years, and is the most used. on the company’s “Galaxy Note” devices because of the S Pen stylus.

That being said, Samsung has been offering its own apps in the Google Play Store for quite some time now, and some of you will certainly be happy to hear that the S Note has joined the club. Samsung’s S Note app is now available on the Google Play Store and is not exclusive to Samsung devices, but it is also not available on all non-Samsung devices. Does this sound confusing? Well, it is, in a way. First of all, keep in mind that you will need Android 6.0 Marshmallow to access this app, if you are lucky. A Swiss user has successfully installed this app on his HTC 10 handset, and it looks like the app is working fine. On the other hand, an LG G4 owner tried to do the same, but the S Note app constantly crashes on his device, every time he tries to turn it on. So what’s up with this? Well, it’s possible that Samsung hasn’t locked the app to work exclusively on Galaxy devices, but at the same time hasn’t optimized it properly for other devices. Now the company will likely update the app soon, but it remains to be seen what this update will bring, it is possible that Samsung will lock the app on Galaxy devices, at least for now.

We are waiting to hear more about this from the company, and until that happens, you can try downloading and installing the app on your device if you’re interested. If you click on the Google Play banner below, you will be taken to the Google Play Store where you can grab this app, and in case you want to check the app design and some functions, take a look at the gallery available under this article where you will find a number of official S Note images.
